I was born and raised in rural Minnesota, and my experiences as a boy have been a major influence my work. I'm inspired by the outdoors and the experience of childood, with its happy, melancholy and austere moments, and the sense of wonder at the world that goes along it. I try to maintain a feeling of innocence and subtlety in my artwork, and hope to bring a world to life that is both complex and simple, seen from the eyes of the average kid.

I live in Plano, Texas, with my wife and my little dog.
